Successful global event touches many in our area: The Women’s Ministry of Cross City First Baptist Church was honored to host the Priscilla Shirer Simulcast on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The day began with coffee, cookies, and doughnuts as participants from 28 area churches assembled for the event.
Worship and praise proceeded the first session of bible study lead by bible teacher Priscilla Shirer. Door prizes were given out by Karlene Marchant before guests enjoyed a delicious salad lunch buffet. Lunch was prepared by Sue Chewning and her expert team
of chefs. Bible study sessions two and three followed lunch with additional door prizes, and more praise and worship.
Ministry leader, Nancy Holifield, said “It was a great personal blessing to be a part of this event. The Lord’s presence was evident as we worshipped simultaneously (via internet) with 40,000 women from 48 states. Our group of one hundred plus participants were radiant in their worship and joyful in their praise. It was a great day in the Lord.”
Special thanks to all those who prayed, participated, and gave to make the simulcast a day to be remembered. Several women brought friends and family members to enjoy the day. We are thankful to these faithful friends and fellow women ministry leaders.
One participant said, “The Lord touched my heart and I am forever changed. Thank you, God.”
Women of all ages are invited to join us in our monthly meetings at First Baptist Church. We meet the third Wednesday of each month. God is blessing and we are thankful. Contact Nancy Holifield or Church secretary, Barbie Frost, at church office for more information.
